NIW for Postdocs: No Permanent Research Position Is Required
A postdoctoral researcher does not need to wait for a tenure track or permanent research position to evaluate a National Interest Waiver. NIW can be self petitioned and does not impose the permanent position requirement that applies to EB1B. The postdoc must still establish underlying EB2 eligibility and all three Dhanasar prongs.
